Anvay came to us sixteen years ago as a one-year-old little boy, cuddled in his mother’s arms. We assessed him and confirmed his diagnosis of cerebral palsy with spastic diplegia. Although the news came as a surprise to his mother, she never spoke of him as having issues, focusing on his abilities and skills.
We teamed up with neurologists and orthopaedic surgeons to work on his development. His therapy always had a goal of participating in life skills. It was never just exercising. As a child, he cried, howled, but always cooperated with us and showed his determination.
I once asked Anvay what career he wanted to pursue. He already had his answer; a lawyer. He knew that he was a skilled speaker and that he had great convincing skills. Anvay knew his abilities and strengths very well.
Anway’s determination shone not just through his physical development but through academics as well. On 30th July Anvay achieved yet another milestone in his life, securing 87% in SSC board examinations. He is now well on his way to being the lawyer he aspired to be.
From learning to kick to playing cricket, and earning high-flying academic achievements, Anvay has proven that determination coupled with a positive attitude is all you need to achieve great things.
